[details=Thoughts]This deck is super wonky, and it’s my first time playing it. I initially wanted to go for a Jandra/Mythmaking build - I took Mythmaking and Ardra’s Boulder so I don’t get steamrolled early game; perhaps I should have taken the Birds Nest instead of the boulder… I intend to use the graveyard for some defense shenanigans. Given that thought, perhaps Twilight Baron was better as it’s a demon.

Alternative strategy is a Macciatus/Illusion strategy.[/details]

p.s. You said tech 2 card(s) but normally you wouldn’t do that until in between your first and second turn right? Also the economy section at the end should be what you had at the end of the turn, so 5 in hand, 3 in discard, 0 in deck until you reshuffle. Please correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct on all counts. The post got messed up because I was unfamiliar with how to work the spreadsheet (still am); I got gold, played units, and then tech’d in cards for next turn (I knew what I wanted) - due to pressing the draw/generate buttons in the wrong order and having to use the back button a bunch on the spreadsheet, it seems it messed up. Lesson learned, after you’re done with your turn, you press “Draw”, then “Generate”, then add the tech cards in, so they appear at the top of next turn.

At the top of turn 2, my stats are looking like this - Hand 5, Deck 0, Discard 5 (3 discarded+2 tech).

I have a feeling I’m about to be overrun by Rook boosted by the Sensei. If for whatever reason he doesn’t have grappling hook this turn to kill Jandra, I may have a chance. Actually, he could level Rook and use Sensei… hmm. Either way, it’s been 1 turn, and I already feel desperately behind. XD[/details]

[details=Thoughts]Not being able to make a worker here if I want to be able to defend my Graveyard from Rook is a big deal; I have to hope that I’ll be able to survive off Sirius Quince’s illusions, and duplicate his T2 units until my own can come online.

If he tech’d in Versatile Style, I’m in real trouble. Actually, that’s going to eat all my current techs…; I’ve got Mythmaking, Soul Stone, and Bird’s Nest coming. Which now that I type that out… I’m not going to have the hero spots to actually make use of everything at once. Going to need to pick and choose based on the situation… and the fact that I have Quince up right now may backfire, hard.

Should I have patrolled him? Most definitely, but I didn’t want to give his hero additional levels; though at this point the hero slot is far more valuable to me than him not having extra levels.

Entangling Roots on Ardra’s Boulder will eat me as well. He’s got many lines of plays that can ruin me - going a hero/upgrade strat against White, doesn’t seem to be the right line of play so far.[/details]

[details=Thoughts]This game is rough; pretty sure not patrolling Sirius Quince when he was in play is what’s going to cost me the game. Additionally, my tech choices have been sub-obtimal.

I still haven’t seen his tech choices…

I’m going to get run over by T2 units - I’m at minimum 3 turns away from my Tech 2 building, while his will construct next turn. I just don’t have the gold to do everything I need to. Multi-color plus unfocused plans are tough.

There were a few lines of play I saw;

  1. Vandy, Soul Stone - Ardra’s Boulder, worker; this loses to both Snapback, Grappling Hook, and double to Entangling Vines but allows me to advance my economy.
  2. Vandy, Jandra, Soul Stone - Jandra; no worker, and loses to Entangling Vines, but if he doesn’t have a way to answer, allows me to build some sort of board presence. I should patrol Vandy, but I’m concerned about Grappling Hook allowing him quick access to the hero. If he doesn’t have Entangling Vines, I might have a small chance.
    3.Vandy, Summon Skeletons, Worker; The correct play the more I look at it, as the skeletons keep Rook in check and allow me to gather some sort of additional resources. Additionally, dealing with all three units will be difficult, as he needs another attack buff to kill the boulder, and would leave at least one skeleton up (even accounting for sparkshot shenanigans). Also advances the economy.[/details]
