So the stupid idea behind this deck is really cheap units: Haunt, Knight of the Conclave, Overeager Cadet. Secondarily, I want to experiment with Disease’s discard. Maybe Omegacron and Mech for an endgame? Or Plague Lord (though I hate that guy) or Gryphon? I dunno.
I got a really awkward split for what I want to do. I want Graveyard to collect and replay my cheap units. I wanted to hit with Imp as soon as possible. But I was really hoping for one of my cheapies (Skele-Javeli or haunt) on my first turn, and Graveyard and/or Imp on my second. I would have just dropped Orpal and a bunch of removal spells if Kaelii had played any units, but nope. I could play imp and nothing else, and that might hurt, but I’m worried the money will just go into heroes.
[/spoiler]
[details=Thoughts]
I totally forgot about Assimilate. I should have played Vir as soon as I saw Rich Earth. Now it’ll take me an extra turn to get him out. And Kaelii will take advantage of Rich Earth on the most crucial money-hungry turns. And I’ll have to choose between Earth and Tree. Man, I like the way Kaelii plays. It’s crazy, but like a Fox’s Den Student, not like a Mad Man. Putting in Assimilate is really slowing down my KotC/OC plan, but I need to steal that stuff as soon as possible. I may just skip the second KotC and do Cadets next turn.
And… I didn’t draw the KotC or the Assimilate, so I didn’t really need my Tech I or my HH. Boo. Well. I can spend my money on heroes and removal next turn, I guess.
I’m still not quite sure what you’re up to, but so far it looks kinda awesome!
I’m pretty sure I’m losing, and I’ll probably want a rematch. (:

Definitely crazy like a Fox’s Den Student. I was originally going to play out my whole hand, but then I decided that having cards and a big Orpal is better. I’m digging this Graveyard full of cheap units. Next turn I’ll probably do something similar again with max Orpal (if he’s around), or play out my hand, take the tree, use Imp to keep Kaelii low on cards.

I still have no idea what I’m doing, but it’s a lot of fun. I thought I was going to tech Omegas, and probably should, but I decided I want to go all in on discard instead.
Is it worth skipping a worker to take a Tree, or discard my opponent to 2 cards? Probably not. But so fun! And on Turn 7 I get a 4/4! Wooooooo!

No spells or Orpal abilities! Denied! Teched in a Death and Decay on the odd chance that Orpal’s still at max when I draw it. If I’d have teched 2x, then it looks I would have drawn one. I just don’t know what Kaelii will hit with Gryphon. Thankfully, no new mirrors next turn, so if I can kill the first, the Gryphon will be targetable. EDIT: HAH!

Oh, I done goof’d a long time ago. You’re just seeing the results now.
More recently, I goofed in that I didn’t notice the Tower last turn. So my Haunt should be dead, Orpal should have been a 2/1 (not 2/2), and I should have an overfull graveyard in my discard pile before my shuffle/redraw.
I’m going to fix it real quick, but it looks like mighty long odds that I can survive.
Is your mirror really still 1/2? I thought Macciatus granted a continuous bonus to all illusions while he’s around, then they lose it when he dies. Otherwise the +1/+1 would have been an “Arrives” ability, right?
Let me know if you want to change your turn at all (though I can’t imagine you would).
@Kaelii All fixed, though by chance, I drew exactly the same hand.
I think the mirror is a 1/2 because of Midori midband – mirror illusion 0/1 with no abilities. Quonce has abilities that care about the mirror, but the mirror doesn’t appear to have any abilities itself I think.
Only thing I might do different is trade Son Mirror for orpal and do 5 to your face parts instead – IF it doesn’t force me to target my griffons that is; not entirely sure about that interaction, and even then I might still not want to. My current line is still pretty solid so I’ll keep it.
So I’ll just keep my turn with slightly less embelishment basically.
I can kill the Reteller with Crow, and I can play a Plague Lab, but with the buff from Midori Son Mirror won’t die, so the Gryphons aren’t even targetable. AND I don’t have anything to target them with if they were. I pulled out Vir and peeked just in case something interesting was on top, but it was Graveyard.
Good game, and well played!
This was my first time trying out Black Starter, my first time trying out Disease, and my first time trying out Future. Also my second time with Peace, if you count our Free for Draft. Thanks for making it so fun!
Orpal is better than I thought he’d be, though there were several times when I had my turn lined up, then realized his mid and max can’t hit heroes and had to redo.
I know that with Peace Engine and Omegas/Hive/Voidstar available to me, Disease was the last place I should have gone, but I was hoping to draw the Crows early enough to keep pressure on your hand, and the discard and Haunt were the main reasons I went with Disease. I’m guessing it works better with Mono Black so ye can throw Shadow Blades into the mix.
Is there a specific concept to your deck? Were you just going to throw an army of Basilisks at everything? I like it, and you played a hell of a Truth game, but I’m curious to read why you put those together.
I just wanted to get as many 0-cost units as possible; pretty sure it wouldn’t go well, but wanted to try it anyway. Got further than I thought I would. (:
