GG! You are definitely teaching me lots of things. i had some bad draws but I also don’t really have a solid plan. Last turn I was 1 gold short of max Prynn + rewind but that’s an expensive play to count on.
I think assimilating my Rich earth was a mistake. By the time you had got it, it was only going to return you 1/2 gold, and your problem was a lack of board, in which spending 3 gold + card to gain 2 gold over the next few turns (if you make a worker) wasn’t going to help. Plus you couldn’t protect vir, so it was also giving me 2 levels.
Against Green, you can’t give them units/tempo. Green relies entirely on its board to do anything, so letting me build one just let me run away with it. Mox into Battlesuits is a very slow plan, and gave me tempo. That added to my natural P2 eco advantage, plus the Green ramp gave me everything I could ask for (KotC on top of this was the cherry on top). You would have been better off with Fargo + Hero/Neo on T2 to apply pressure to the Green player. Out of all the colours, Green is the one that relies on it’s board the most, and hence is the one that as the opponent you must take it from them.
Yeah, I figured it was too slow but I could have gotten the assimilate a turn earlier. It’s hard to resist that Mox + BS but you’re probably right it’s not a good play vs. green.
Rich Earth has long been discussed as a card normally not worth a 3 gold investment on turns 1-3. By the time you can steal it as Purple, it is definitely not worth the gold (it takes 3 turns to break even, 4 to make a profit, and you only make workers for the first 5/6 turns before you have better uses for that card, in the best of circumstances).
