Not sure if it was worth trade fruit ninja for Bigby vs 4dam to base & keep ninja.
Still 6 dam to main isn’t bad. The other part I question is whether it was worth
going down a card to kill aven (probably, but 3 card hands are rough)

Unfortunately, Bloom only hits friendly units/heroes, so you can’t target Aven with Bloom. I assume the extra money and card will allow you to adjust your turn. (:

@ARMed_PIrate, my apologies on the misplay. Believe it or not I never noticed that restriction before and always just assumed I knew what the card did (reading is hard).

Cliff notes - took the play back, discarded an extra card, floated an extra 2g.

I got really lucky on my draws. For the record, I only had 1 unit in hand when I played the Garrison; everything afterwards was top-decked.

Note that, if used, Firebat’s ability will have to target Flagbearer, unless you can kill Flagbearer or run yourself out of money first.

@ARMed_PIrate :: I think your base is actually at 13 after my last play (start at 19; -1 from crash bomber ability; -3 from brickthief atk; -2 from brickthief ability). In the future I’ll try doing the bold trick your do.

Interesting point of difference, I’m used to people leaving the runes on the drill sgt;
That way next round you can make the runes do double work by

  • atk w/ a 7/7 drill sgt
  • xfer runes after drill sgt is exhausted
  • atk w/ a 6/6 cadet

…except this strat is even more vulnerable to a kidnapping counter

So I am on the fence. On the one hand I could try a T1 strat (which this deck does well)
On the other hand, this strat is weak vs blue b/c of injunction.
The other thing I’m thinking of is a T3 strat, but not bashing. Trouble is, neither is a gunship.

So normally I don’t give dragon much credit, but fire is super-powerful vs blue so dragon may be good.
K, I think I’ve talked myself into it. So to make this work, I think it is important
to tech few/no fire spells so the dragon has maximum potential.

Bloodlust + Firebird :: maybe an early firebird, also bloodlust should have a lot of utility
Desperation + Bamstamper :: desperation, b/c I’m prob squeezed on cards at this point & bampstamper is big
Dragon + Dragon :: close things out with dragons; will bloat my deck, but hopefully win before reshuffle

Great game, sir! I knew I overextended when I played my whole hand; I could have gotten my engine out much sooner otherwise, but it’s so hard to leave your heroes alive when they’re vulnerable!

Inspired tech with Kidnapping; I totally forgot about it, and didn’t expect it against my weenies; should have!

I think alot of this is learning other people’s meta, and in my mind red’s natural counter to drill-sgt is kidnapping and to garrison is shoddy glider / disguised monkey (or in my case sneaky pig).

A variation you can try, which isn’t as vulnerable to the kidnapping counter, is “sniper drill-sgt”. basically you prioritize drill-sgt over garrison and go for bigger units, then use Quince’s hallucination to turn opo-units into illusions and drill-sgt runes to sniper-shot them. Tends to work better against purple / green / strength though (bigger units).
