Tasty. That’s an easy hero kill, so do I bring out Grave or Sets? If I bring out Grave, I can set up for a sword rune next turn. If I play Setsuki… lemme math this. 1 for a worker, 1 for advice, 1 for tech 1, 2 for Sets, that’s 5. I have 2 gold left. She levels 4 times. SO CLOSE to maxband. Might still be good because her Swift Strike can contest Blue starter easily and her passive allows me to keep an economy advantage. Or…I could be bold and skip tech 1…HMM

So, not surprising. It’s a bit of a bummer that I don’t get the swag of a t3 Ult but I’ll manage. Biggest threat right now is Aven + Manufactured Truth, BUT that’s 2 gold for Aven plus the spell, 2 gold to level Quince, 2 gold to convert the illusion, 2 gold to attack Setsuki. So it’s literally impossible if she doesn’t patrol. hmm. looks like I have a choice between Primus and Flagbearer. I think I need Primus for antiair. If Primus survives, I’ve got a kill on Newsman even with a Tower up, thanks to Hidden Ninja.

IT’S NINJA TIME! So we’re 100% breaking T2. four ninja plus sensei buff is 5 damage. We can even break tech 1 too with Viper but then we have nothing to defend with. So instead we break T2 and clear out some units. Sensei’s Advice lets 2 sneaky ninja kill off both cadets, and the other two can hit T2 along with Primus. Sensei kills the inspector for free. End board is Quince and a mirror, I patrol nothing. I’m okay with that. on second thought, let’s kill the mirror, it’s more dangerous with Primus on the field, and I want Setsuki to keep living and recasting FDS

Neither Red nor Blue ninja survive attacking the Overeager Cadets, near as I can tell. 1 armor doesn’t matter when you only have 1 life against a 2-attack unit.

Fox Primus doesn’t have stealth so it can’t sneak past both the Building Inspector and the Mirror Illusion.

safe attacking+sensei adv makes 2 armor, primus has stealth cux FDS, she is a ninja too

Yep, beat me to it. Fox’s Den grants stealth to all ninja, not just the 1/1s. (Setsuki isn’t a Ninja, but Hidden Ninja takes care of that.) And yeah, Sensei’s Advice + Safe Attacking is 2 armor. (Safe Attacking is good when you’re ahead!)

Yeah, I was basically set up to cast Setsuki ultimate almost every turn thanks to her cycle. I’m surprised I managed to max her that early, tbh; I looked at the board state and realized, “hey, if I skip tech 1, I could maxband her and I’d probably be guaranteed the card draw next turn, which seems really good…”

I almost got off a cheeky turn 3 ultimate, but you scuppered that pretty well!

I’ll get another game set up later today probably.

Yeah. I thought I’d put Onimaru in SQL to make him slightly more difficult to kill but I don’t think it would have mattered. For whatever reason I definitely forgot that White has so many anti-hero answers.

Grave + Sensei is gonna be a right pain in the ass. Traffic Director throws a wrench in that plan since he can’t be targeted with Grappling Hook and Reputable Newsman in Lookout means he’ll have to pay extra to move my patrol zone around. Furthermore, the Newsman blocks Safe Attacking and Sensei’s Advice so I think this is a relatively safe opening.
