Thoughts
Sucks to lose all my guys, but I’d rather have an empty board with 18 base HP than face two invisible demon heroes with 7 base HP.
Garth being out of commission means I can rely on maxband Rook to stall for a bit, though Plague Spitter reduces his effectiveness significantly.
Ill have to GG it htere. i played out a whole turn adding meta to my hand using vandy, only to realize i stupidly teched both in earlier.
nice play with hero’s. i think you locked that one up pretty quick.
GG!
I actually felt like the momentum had shifted over the last few turns - your T6 was especially brutal. You definitely made me reconsider my position that Necro tech II is weak when played from behind.
I did however get an Oathkeeper in my last hand (and a Sparring Partner to protect him from Sac the Weak), which I think would’ve clinched the win.
Want to run it back as P1?
yeah. im down to use this as a mono color experiment. black /purple are the one’s im least experienced in so im down.

Rook is probably a better P2 hero than Grave. I can afford Safe Attacking, but I don’t want to go down on cards in case Imp drops down. I’ll learn from my mistake last game and patrol Sensei in lookout rather than scav.

well, rook is to be expected. bummer he got anged sensie as well. i think that jandra will be the best option i can put out there. i can use sacrfice teh weak to deal with her midband, but SK Jav isnt much to give up given teh benefit. i actually think he might just lay back and put up a wall if i put jandra in sql.
i think that ill tech in plague spitter to get the - runes threat going, plus doomgrasp just in case he mid’s rook to get at vandy. maybe i can kills rook before he maxbands him. worst case, i can float DG the rest of the ame.
long term, im torn between disease and demon. Blackhand Dozer is very tempting sincehe can roll through tech buildings until i get Banefire golems set up.

Thoughts
By midbanding Rook, I could either kill Vandy and go for an early maxband, or clear Jandra and Jav (if I had Grappling Hook in hand I could’ve killed both…).
Leaving Vandy alive and just a single patroller in front of Rook risks him dying, which is a serious loss of gold. So T2 maxband it is! I’ll have to watch out for Garth spells going forward. Snapback should come in handy for that.
Teching Birds’ Nest to set up Earthquake next. Might also get Thunderclap to let Rook kill at will.

well, i cant say that i didnt expect it, but i think i can press this for a good advantage.
going down on cards to clear his board, protect Garth/Jandra, and be aggressive going at his tech 1. if he chooses to build tech 2 and patrol rook, i can plague spitter to kill him, plus max garth to summon another unit.
im going for blackhand dozer to keep up teh aggression. i can suicide him at some point - totally worth it.

Plague Spitter is the last unit I wanted to see here… but at least I can get a kill on Garth and prevent a Nether Drain.
As far as I can tell, codexnewb won’t be able to both kill Rook and break my tech buildings next turn, so I should have some options. Definitely not going to rely on Rook surviving though. The birds should still make up for their cost next turn, even if they don’t stick around much longer.

That’s a very cool play, except that Orpal’s midband reads “Sacrifice a non-Demon unit”.
dahhhhhhhh! okay. allow me to reconsider.
guess ill just have to sacrifice skeleton jav instead…

Thoughts
Killing Jandra goes without saying. Snapbacking Orpal is also good value, and hopefully keeps my birds alive.
But would I rather face Vandy or Garth? Vandy is obviously the better brawler, but I expect codexnewb to have teched Garth spells to deal with Rook. Garth can also resurrect the Spitter, whereas it would be tricky to maxband Vandy without helping me.
For next turn, I need HH to have something to invest gold in. Longer term, I need to keep my base health in mind, so getting a Porcupine for defense seems good. Earthquake is a risk with Rook already at the edge of his first life, but I think I can keep the board under control with Reversal and/or Sensei’s Advice on the birds. Let’s go for it!
edit - vandy should be in technician…not ALSO down below. removed from down below.

A bit disappointed to miss Reversal on the draw, but Sensei’s Advice will do.
And since I don’t need Grave and I have some gold to spare, I’ll bring in Setsuki to try and rebuild my handsize, though I’m half expecting her to die to a Garth spell.
With that in mind, it feels silly to tech FDStudents. If Sets does die, I’m likely to find myself with more gold than I can spend, which means tech 3 is on the table. So I’ll get a copy of Jade Fox already, and Vines to deal with big demons.
