Thoughts
So I’ve been thinking of how to make Ninjutsu work for a while and I’ll try an aggressive Max Setsuki-centered strategy with Tech II denial as my general strategy. Both Injunction and Hidden Ninja can do the trick.
He does have access to direct hero removal (Grave), which will make it rather difficult to go with my planned style, since he would get huge value out of sniping Setsuki, if I allow it. I’m not even sure how to start T1. I could go with Bigby or Vandy instead, but I want to see if I can get enough value out of Setsuki’s midband in this situation here.
A single hero/unit start would be much more easy for me. I want to play Setsuki T1 just to see if I can pull it off, so I have to put a good blocker down. This means I won’t float any gold, but he could just spark Smoker and remove Setsuki for cheap.
This is supposed to be an experiment anyway so I hope I’m wiser after the game.

Hmm not much options here. Max setsuki fails, because he can just remove her and come out ahead and I can’t tech a direct threat. He gained value on his turn 2 which is really bad for me, since my first 3 turns are critical and very tight. Interestingly having Anarchy as 3rd would also be good in this situation. Just drawing lookout in second hand would have helped.
He can clear my board next turn and I can’t do much about it , even though I go down on cards. If I played Vandy, things would look a lot better here just because of the 1$ I’d save for midband and the extra Att/HP.
Edit: I had to edit because worker count was wrong. I forgot to move a card from hand to workers. So I had to reshuffle as well.

Well it doesn’t look terribad now (though I think he could have finished the game last turn already), but he’s clearly aiming for his midgame plan, which is prolly Young Lightning Dragons. I don’t have a heroes hall yet, so I will have to build one next turn.

Hmm, not good not good. Teching Shurikens would have removed the tenderfoot. Interesting. Maybe this deck isn’t a complete failure, and there could certainly things I could have done better. Sadly it’s still not particularly good.

I just looked something up and saw in the rulebook, that your first Tech Building OR ADDON costs 1$ more to build.
Not only did I lose badly, I even cheated
Hmm, I screwed it up again, although this was probably avoidable. I somehow assumed you wouldn’t delay your Tech I, so instead I should have patroled SQL: Aged Sensei and Smoker somewhere else.
Out of curiousity what would your turn look like if I patroled like this?
