Assimilate could put a gum in the works here, but let’s see how we go.
No good units to play here, so I’ll save my gold and go with a solo hero. Is there a reason to play someone other than Grave? Prynn would allow use of Origin Story if Rook comes out. Garth gets out a Skeleton and keeps me on curve, plus I don’t care as much about him dying. OK, let’s go with Garth, Marto’s probably going to block up with Rook so no point bring out Grave without support.

There’s Rook, as expected. Savior Monk won’t do much for me just yet, so I can put down Aged Sensei and another Skeleton, and expect Marto to go for a Thunderclap. On the other hand, Savior Monk can’t be killed with his current board. OK, let’s do that instead.

… Drew Versatile Style before it can hit Bird’s Nest, but if I sacrifice Garth without killing Rook, I can Snapback on the next turn to get him under control. If not, Sparring Partner is affordable on top of a worker, Tech II, and a tech lab.
On second thoughts, I should have brought in a Bone Collector instead of Versatile Style.
I prefer midbanding Rook just in case. Prynn + undo or Grave + Reversal would both lead to a hero kill, and I prefer avoiding that. If Origin Story comes out, well, that's so much gold not put into board presence right ?

No tower is super good news, as my flyers can kill cheap patrollers for free. Rook would have been great ( ignorig last patroller to kill Grave) but Vir is fine as well, mitigating my dead draw. Dunno yet whether playing both Marauders or a boosted one, we'll see what enters play.

Thoughts
Time for some gunships ! I considered playing a boosted Marauder instead of worker + tech up, so I could break Tech I as well, but I think no tech I thing can compete with any of my hasty tech IIs, and even less with Gunships. I could also max Zane (7gold, 4 remaining), shoving Sensei to scav, then trading GPT with BC and stealing the gold, so I could worker + tech, and trade Zane with Grave. Doing so, I save a card, but lose Zane, and hit tech I slightly less. Can’t say which line is better, so I favored the one with Zane alive so I can threaten the very same shenanigans on next turn.
I’m tempted to just attack here and get some damage on the Tech I, but I’m probably better waiting, and setting up a big attack with Sensei, and Stewardess to bounce something.
I need to bear in mind that I need 5 gold for a Tech II and a Tech lab. That leaves me 1 gold after workering without float, so if I don’t draw in Partner I’d be in trouble. Think I’m safe sticking Grave in front at Level 1 for now, and floating 2 in case I need to play the Stewardess. On the other hand, there’s potentially 3 haste damage coming my way, so can I afford to? Maybe just level Grave now, and settle for Safe Attacking if I don’t draw the Partner.
… OK, I drew the Partner, but unfortunately I also drew the Stewardess. I have the Hook as well, though, if I need to put some pressure on.
