Thoughts

The only way I can kill the Plexus is by trading the Monk, and midband Orpal afterwards. Is that worth it? I don’t think so, Geiger gets some runes killing Orpal but he doesn’t need go stats to do his tricks. I’ll just build up a board for now. Teching in Sickness and Crypt Crawler, since I can afford one of them plus a Tech II next turn.

Hmm, tricky hand. Plague Lab will be useful if I put Grave down, since I can duplicate his sword next turn. It only puts a rune on the Tricycloid, but that means the Abomination has 4 health left instead of 3, so a later Tricycloid can’t shoot him down. Savior Monk would be nice to heal up before that happens, Snapback would be nice so the (presumably) incoming Hyperion doesn’t get flickered. I’d quite like a Tower too, to squeeze out some more damage against the Hyperions and stop them from drawing two cards.

If I patrol with midband Grave in SQL, a Hyperion can’t kill him solo, but does get killed if I build a Tower, preventing the flicker. That’s 7 gold, and I could spend the rest on Plague Lab or Snapback, plus a worker to try and leverage my worker advantage versus dwarddd. I think I want the Plague Lab, in that case. Hope there’s no Origin Story or Undo incoming, but unless the Tech II is destroyed the latter probably works out in my favour anyway.

I’ll delay the decision on further techs until I’m further through the deck, but I’m considering more Disease II units to fill the board in case of Undo, Martial Mastery for peeking/cycling, Community Service to pinch those delicious Present II units, or Plague Lord, since non-Abomination Disease cards are cheap and I could easily afford a Tech III if given a little breathing room.

Ouch, I was thinking I was fine unless dwarddd drew back into the other Tricycloid, and there it was! I think I’m still in decent shape, though: Injunction will stop Present II units from coming back, and from additional heroes coming in, so, unless dwarddd’s got another Now! in hand, I’m only getting attacked by Geiger, and maybe Nullcraft, this turn. I think I just bring in the Injunction and build Tech III, see if I can bring in a Plague Lord or two. Do I want to worker the Smoker? I’d rather get my hand size back up, or have him block in case of Now!. The latter probably isn’t needed, I’ll just float the last gold. I’m not exactly sure what dwarddd’s taking a Future lab for, but I think Cursed Crow should be enough to cope with a Void Star, and Abomination deals with almost everything else, especially Hive. Not Omegacron, but I don’t expect that to happen, if it does then Orpal gets to run into it and I tech in Spreading Plague.

Let’s see, maxband Orpal is 7 gold, Ghoul is 4, Crypt Crawler is 2. I have 11. I could also maxband Bigby and draw a card for 4 gold, and hope for a Gorgon for 3, or Orpal+Sickness for 4. With the former I can only play the Ghoul or Crawler + Orpal, with the latter I can only play the Crypt Crawler. If I draw Safe Attacking instead, I play both. I’m not especially happy with those draw options, even with Sickess out the Crawler still gets traded with the Knight. Maybe that’s not a big deal, though? The main problem would be that it leaves me thin on patrollers if there are Hyperions incoming. I can just skip the Sickness in favour of the starting units, and Gorgon + Ghoul + Crawler is pretty good. What the hell, I’m going for the draw.

Thoughts

Great use of Prynn there, and if the Hyperions die they’re now going into discard in time for the reshuffle. Not good. On the other hand, Vir is the only hero available for the next turn, so there shouldn’t be any big shenanigans. Putting in a Judgement Day, in case I can’t get my tech buildings to stick again.

Grave will die in Squad Leader, but if this lets the other rune spread to the remaining Hyperion, it has to trade with Smoker if not assisted.
