Well I kind of have a board now, but even this much won’t show him by much more than a turn. Metamorphosis here is real scary but at least his gargoyle has to take a timeout. Horror is primed to trade up at least. Good chance omega comes online next turn but it may well be too late.

"

You pulled that spell at the perfect time. It effectively negated my trashing your Tech 2 Building. Nicely done.

@CesareB

I did not Tech any cards because I have 10 workers and my deck is already unwieldy.

Gargoyle is exhausted after “dying” to Vandy’s maxband.

I don’t believe the gargoyle can do that. You gave it the vandy buff last turn, which would kill it during your upkeep. Since it is indestructible, it doesn’t die, but is instead exhausted.

1 Like

My apologies. I thought I’d read somewhere on these forums that the Gargoyle turned back to indestructible before that would happen. But I don’t know where I saw that, or even if it was conjecture or an adamant statement. Let me rejig the turn just a bit. Damn, it was a nice turn too.

@CesareB

First, you ready it during the ready phase. Then when you get to the upkeep phase, vandy’s buff kills it. You’re right that it can gain indestructible before the buff kills it: it’s just that when an indestructible thing would die, it is instead exhausted. So you still have it, it just can’t attack or patrol or anything.

Omegacron to the rescue, if only just. He almost certainly kills it with gargoyle this turn but that nonsense should slow down CONSIDERABLY next turn. Vir’s hand management came in clutch this turn: not only does he stow Hive away for next turn when I (hopefully) have my Tech 2 back online, he gives me Nimble Fencer, the cleanest way for me to finish off Vandy. Gonna throw in another Unphase since it pairs so well with Omegacron but otherwise I think I’m good as far as tech.

"

Understood. When I first read it, I thought I was going to have to remove it from the board. There’s a lot of little tricky tidbits to this game. A lot of moving parts.

Man, this is a bloody, beat-em-up match.

I thought about keeping the stingers around to get some use out of them but Discord is too dangerous. Better to just get omega on the field and get it rolling immediately. I’m actually less scared of his tech 3 than I am of most of his tech 2s at this point so it’s kind of a relief to see that much cash go in that direction. Maybe he teched a lot of spells that my policy of aggressively clearing his heroes has prevented?

"

@CesareB

Fell asleep mid-turn last night. I didn’t want to start it over because I had already pulled the Tech draw and used Dark Pact. I think the numbers are right, but I’m not 100% sure.

That should just about seal the deal. I’m leaving tech 3 up rather than tech 2 since Daigo can’t patrol and I know I have unphase on the off chance he builds a board.

Sacrifice the Weak doesn’t target (it doesn’t have the little target icon), so you don’t need to pay extra for resist. I guess you could just float an extra $1.

@Dreamfire

Thank you.
