Sorry I missed this when there was still time to correct it. On T9, Vandy was still midband, and therefore had Resist 1. So Origin Story shouldn’t have been playable unless Prynn was summoned to less than max.

That’s right, I missed Vandy’s midband resist. i could have used it on Garth instead, and dealt a little less damage to tech 1. I think it would have gone in my favor because he wouldn’t have received that doom grasp draw and the damage didn’t help me anyway. The game is over so I don’t think there’s much point in going back - but thanks for catching it, pirate!

There’s so much going on in Codex that I think it helps to have a GM sitting on the sidelines to help out with legality and bookkeeping. @Andreas caught at least two or three major mistakes in my turns against him!

Thoughts

Already feeling in tough place. Usually like to be agressive with black vs purple, but it is hard to do so when playing as P2. Will try to use my gold adv. Teching a plague spitter for NC and present tech 2s. Also Nether drain, since I expect him to put $ into his heroes since he’s down to 3 hand size. If I get it next turn, I can max garth next turn for another plague spitter likely. If I get it in 2 turns, I’ll tech next turn and get a tech 2 unit. Either situation works out pretty well.

Nether drain has poor value given he didn’t level his hero this turn. Was thinking to go tech 2 here, but feel like that would be too rushed and give him a chance to kill any potential momentum of mine. Bulding tower for defense and counter to NC. This may get ugly with him going tech 2 next turn. I think I’ll try and go tech 2 and tech 3 sequentially before he can bring his powerful tech 2s, since black usually can’t stand up to purple tech 2’s, especially when down in momentum already.

Thoughts

Only chance I have is to clear his board somehow next turn, Doom Grasp and HE are on deck, and turn pressure on him to prevent Ebbflow. He’s doing a good job of teching on time and putting up a board, but he’s down on cards. I’ll try to use that to my advantage and get some Dozer’s out for pressure. A rememberer play with summoning other tech 2 fading units, + Geiger flicker on remember for even more tech 2s (if he’s teched enough, or even tech 1s) would be GG here.


No Dozer draw unfortunately, but I do have options with Nether drain (not on Geiger)… DG or HE, and even Imp to keep his hand low. It’s gonna be a tough one to squeeze out.

This is my chance for tech 3! He can’t bring either of his other 2 heroes next turn since they both just died, so he’ll have to put all his gold either toward his 3 cards in hand, and likely a tech 3 himself. He can bounce of any of my units/heroes, so I’m trying to hedge my bets here (Stewardess, origin story, or undo). Now, if I can only manage to find a way to kill his Geiger, I can re-active that annoying yet resourceful Thieving Imp! Fingers crossed for good draw for next turn, really comes down to this.
