Really need an answer for Mox this game, hopefully I can find it as P1! Maybe Harmony + Dark Pact is the right way, pressure meta to keep him locked down off his Tech 2 plans (which really is I guess really his only truly great win condition, Mox + Nullcraft isn’t going to win the game). Archery and Skeleton Spam is also helpful I suppose, maybe that’ll be what we go for.

Of Course, Poisonblade Rogue is also a choice! I’m not really sure that’s what I want though, Nullcraft poses a constant threat to her life, and I don’t really want to worker anything else in this hand I don’t think… Forgotten fighter would also give him all the tempo if I SQL it… I think I’ll take a bit of risk and worker Imp, it’s not something I’ve done before but I want Rogue in the deck as an option later. If I had a way to give her haste I’d feel a lot better about this decision…

looks like a pretty decent split for me. not sure what path to take here compared to last game. going second I have no way of ensuring a safe hero, and I don’t want to give him a free maxband vandy, so I think I’ll go down a card instead, question is do I put down battle suits or start harassing him with nullcraft

Well, I think primary choices here are do I want to max Vandy and threaten meta right away, or play it cool and build up Dancers? I have more cards if I opt away from Harmony, and no matter what I do Bloodlust is a serious threat, as is Kidnapping. That said, it’s reasonably likely he went for Argonaut + Cadet or something stall-worthy like that. If I went for Vandy max, I could do Garth + Skele and doom the new skele as a blocker, or doom my jav and put hurt straight to the face.

EDIT: That’s a little too crazy, there’s no way he grabbed Kidnapping (if he did he’s insane!), so I’ll just doom the skeleton that’s absorbing a blow anyway.

Sorry I’m thinking about this turn so much, but if I haven’t lost already i definitely have to play perfectly from here on out. Also murdering vandy is totally worth skipping a worker and tech building on t2 :sweat_smile:

Lol… I’ve been in your position so I know how you feel, take your time, a spot in the finals is on the line!

Honestly I’m not going to be upset being done with this spec, I just threw it in there when I signed up for the tournament last minute like a week after playing codex for the first time but having no answers to heroes strategies makes this variant of soldier shinanegans weak.

Definitely could benefit from Origin Story or Nether Drain (and Garth would actually be a cool sub for Drakk, more ways to raise Hyperions back!)

If I tech another Meta, I’m 46% to draw it with DP (64% to draw it or the other DP, which with a second DP draw brings me up to 61% total to draw Meta, so pretty good odds really). Let’s go through other situtations to see what else I might want to tech…

If I don’t draw it, but I get StW:
Can StW to kill Nullcraft and then Vandy kills Fargo with no Nullcraft retalliation, lay out 3 skeletons to block, get the tech 1 so Meta doesn’t waste Garth maxband

If I don’t draw it or StW, but I draw deteriorate:
Can deteriorate Fargo to safely kill it with Vandy (3hp vandy won’t die to Drakk mid + nullcraft, especially if I don’t leave Geiger a way to suicide.

If I draw harmony + whatever else I tech this turn:
I have Summon Skele in hand, I can do Garth Skele + Summon Skele + Archery. Or, If I tech Lich’s bargain, I can sub archery / SS for that. So Lich’s Bargain I think is the other tech.

I should probably expect Now! was teched, though… Still, 61% to get to a Meta is worth doing, as I’ll have him on 4 base HP if I do it, close enough for double dark pact death. But wait… If I do take that shot… He will have enough with Drak midband + like Neo Plexus to kill both Garth AND Vandy patrolling… so I can’t worker with it, I’ll have to make a skeleton to protect Vandy…

Ok, here we go with the draw!

So wait a minute, Vandy and Garth are invisible and he has no tower… so I can just guarantee a win next turn if I don’t patrol them? He has 3 + 2 + 1 + 2/3 for Geiger on the board, he can flicker Nullcraft for 1 more, so thats 10, but he only has 8 gold, the most he could possibly bring from hand without Drakk is 8gold for Argo x2 + Now! x2, which would have to be ALL he teched AND he can’t max geiger / flicker nullcraft for that, AND he wouldn’t be building a tower which he HAS to do to not lose… So I just need to not patrol anything but the skeleton and I guarantee a win? I think that’s right! In fact, I think I don’t actually want to Dark Pact him then, so let’s not.

In retrospect the early battle suits play was greedy. Not surprising, mono rook and mono vandy were all my losses with this spec with relatively bad early game heroes and no good anti hero tech

GG WP! Yea, Rook and Vandy are tough to deal with on that setup, and the Suits play was not quite enough defense.

@EricF Looks like @Bob199 and me for the finals, with Bob going first correct? I got one more battle to win in the gauntlet here to stop my “always the bridesmaid” streak in CAS!
