That Free Speech sure is obnoxious. Blocking my maxband Drakk play. What can I do in the meantime? I need to let Recruiter get one more attack off, and thatā€™ll let me snag the Nimble Fencer and get 2-for-1. In fact, I can use that to play the Starlet with haste. So, double Fencer trades with Squad Lead (4). Recruiter kills Flagbearer and recruits Fencer. Starlet trades with Drill Sergeant, Garth finishes the trade. Fencer trades with Elite Cadet, River kills Scavenger Cadet? Or maybe she just sits tight. Ogre for (9) total. Summon Drakk and float 1. Wait, I did the math wrong.

This looks really really bad still, but maybe if I keep beating, things will line up and Iā€™ll blow up the patrol zone and the Garrison.

Thoughts

Starting to look pretty bad, because Iā€™m down on cards perpetually. I have to Shoddy Glider to take out the Air Hammer. Ogre Recruiter kills squad leader. Second Ogre probably kills Tenderfoot because we donā€™t care about technician draw, recruit the Cadet. River kills her double, should have Drakk or Garth out (3 gold so far) to level for free. That leaves Timely Messenger and Quince alive. Ugh, Drill Sergeants. Definitely building a Surplus. Iā€™m sad that I workered Graveyard so many turns ago. Really spooky turn coming up though.

Well, hereā€™s a wall he has to get through. If I keep stalling like this, he has to keep clearing it to stop himself from losing. If I continue to worker occasionally, Iā€™ll build up power and win this war of attrition!

Yeah, thatā€™s it. My draw whiffed entirely, including Surplus, and I canā€™t handle this patrol zone. Was hoping on eventually drawing into double Shoddy or maybe get enough power with Crashbarrow to break through to Quince or Garrison, but no dice. The inevitable GG!

I think I prepped better for the lockdown this turn, but not well enough.

why you didnā€™t kill quince asap? with garrison the free speech cycle was for granted imo. You had more than one occasion to kill it with glider. I was waiting for the end of the game to ask you the reason.

Honestly, I thought I could weather Free Speech because I had a lot of proactive units (Gliders, Crashbarrow, Recruiters). Which would have been mostly true, but I had enough spells in my deck that there was the chance of a clogged draw. What I forgot to account for was losing access to Drakk and Garth maxbands.
