Well this has been some decidedly unusual play for Pirate. Beautiful bait with the DeGrey and he hit 10 workers before me. Will he build Tech III?? There could be gunships coming. My full Patrol Zone should hopefully make any Zane play much worse than it would have been. If he has Entangling Vines, I’m impressed and in big trouble. Short of that, I think everything is actually OK…

Hmm, my draws were pretty bad this turn, but last turn were pretty good. Multiple Tech III units is pretty ballsy, but I think that’s what you’re going for. I can’t create a unit or hero with 10 toughness so it looks like I’m not attacking this turn. :frowning: On the bright side, you can’t play 2 Gunships next turn…

So, he didn’t play Rhino this turn, which was my big worry. I still have to worry about hasted Rhino from Drakk, plus Stampede. I’ve got him if I can get DeGrey out this turn. Next turn I sideline, attack with DeGrey, attack with Oathkeeper, and TD DeGrey into a Marauder for the win.

I think I need to kill Drakk with Zane. This opens up Garth, but I don’t think he’s got Doom Grasp. I also don’t think he’s got Polymorph: Squirrel, but he probably just teched one of each, or Guargum and a P:S. Still, he didn’t reshuffle, so I think I’m okay?

So, as I see it, I have two choices: attack with Oathkeeper or don’t. Hey. I was trying to calculate whether I could survive a turn if Oathkeeper goes after base or B.A… but I don’t have to choose. Geiger maxband is like one-time readiness!

I do wish I had teched a Sanatorium instead of MS Pass. Having that in play with the ability to draw cards would be pretty sweet right now.

GG I concede. It was over if you had a hasty unit. You could have just hit my base for 18 (9+6+3) right? (That’s why I asked if you could find 3 more damage last week :wink: .

On my next turn, yeah. Bring in max Zane to shove and then kill Drakk, and then Geiger, DeGrey, and Oathkeeper take out the base.

Oathkeeper apparently only sidelines units, not heroes, so the fact that you kept patrolling Arg meant that I had to be patient to break through.

Also, I had no Gunships in hand! I rebuilt the Tech Lab because I had the extra money and I thought, “Hey, maybe there’s some world in which I draw again.” Depending on what you did, I might have even gone for the Hail Mary of using Geiger’s midband to discard my MS Sanctuary and pray for the long-odds Gunship draw. (It’s nice that he can get around Oathkeeper’s ban in a pinch.)

Really, it came down to that ridiculously lucky technician Draw. If I hadn’t gotten Oathkeeper in that hand (I had only teched one copy, thinking Gunships would be more crucial), you would have had me right there. I don’t think anything less than Oathkeeper+Mythmaking would have held off your MoLaC madness.

Read through your thoughts. I finally got to surprise you! Yeah, I was worried about the Polymorph: Squirrel, and was really lucky you didn’t draw it 'til Arg was dead. I figured you’d teched it T8, and had no idea it was in your deck for so long. I was worried about Guargum playing it on the last turn; luckily, you didn’t have them both in hand. But I guess the Resist 2 on Oathkeeper is a separate cost from the spell’s cost, so even if you drew Gg and P:S, you’d be one gold short, huh?

I was also worried about Drakk bringing in a hasted Rhino, getting Shamble-runes and Arg-boosts, which is why I went out of my way to kill Drakk on T9.

Yeah, Oathkeeper was an unstoppable wall. I was one unit short of hitting MoLaC which would have probably ended the game on the spot. Stampede + MoLaC was a nice turn :slight_smile: Your DeGreys were really good against my deck, you had a sick turn wiping my board. Ultimately, yeah that tech draw was reallllly clutch. If my Polymorph hadn’t been in the last couple cards in my deck, I think I also would have been able to win handily. I didn’t realize Oathkeeper was only units, not heroes, so I guess I was more ‘in the game’ than I thought. I was just waiting for you to either sputter out and draw my Polymorph or for you to one-shot my base. After getting a 3-for-1 with my Rhino, I thought I had you for sure! I guess in retrospect I could have patrolled Garth in SL as a better way to stave off death.

Anyway, GG man. Definitely a weird one and pretty anti-climactic, but still lots of fun.

Edit: Alternately, I could have killed Rook with Drakk and Arg, then let the Bone Collector take out tech III. I will be honest, I did not expect the Oathkeeper at all, I was 100% sure if you had tech III, it would be gunships.
