Thoughts
I’m not really sure what to make of this matchup. Initial thoughts on synergies are Mythmaking + Macciatus. However, I might want Birds / Mimics if bansa goes for Future.
Oddly, the only targeted spells available for bansa are Arrest and Unphase. I think that makes it worth going for Truth, and opening with Aven. I just need to make sure to balance my unit tech levels in case of Injunction. I think it’s worth playing Building Inspector now, too.

now this deck tied my hands good and very thoroughly… i can’t do anything early game… forcing me to do stuff that i’m not used to… he is saying he’s got arrest in hand… offering aven trade
Porkhand Magistrate
Jail

Manufactured Truth
Thoughts
Can’t afford Manufactured Truth trickery here, but I’m fine with an Aven trade: bansa needs the Aven more than me. Bringing out Midori, because his midband plays nicely with Spectral Hounds.
Jail goes to workers first over Porkhand, since it’s vulnerable to Assimilate as a response. Truth units are way cheaper than bansa’s Tech II options, so it’s not as bad as it could be, but still. Besides, forecast units ignore it.
Building Inspector goes in Scavenger, because, if he dies with Midori still alive, I can then afford worker + both Hounds + midband Midori, if I draw both Hounds.
Can’t afford midband and both Hounds, but I can get one Hound and kill Bigby, while staying on a full hand. Let’s do it. Delaying Macciatus in favour of Final Showdown: I don’t need to worry as much about my illusions being targeted, and Final Showdown’s card draw should come in handy. Other tech choice is Spectral Tiger, because that benefits from Midori’s aura too.

Thoughts
The Owl will be annoying later when I go on the offensive with Midori. However, if I kill it instead of the Building Inspector, I don’t get the Aven out, so that can deal with it next turn. Delaying the second Tiger to take a Roc, since I’m expecting Void Stars or Hives. It was a choice between that and Moment’s Peace.
Unfortunately, I have to risk the Aven getting popped by patrolling it here, since the Owl can be turned into an Aven copy and kill the Hound for free. Lookout stops it being killed by Arrest easily, Squad Leader stops it being killed by a copy. I don’t like either of those options, but Manufactured Truth costs bansa two cards in the trade, so I’ll protect against Arrest.

Thoughts
Definitely hitting the Tech II here, I don’t want Future fliers coming out. That’s going to leave me a little thin on the ground against bansa’s board, unfortunately. Hoping for no Arrest redraw.
Teching in the other Tiger, and then I’m not sure whether to go for Reteller or something else. With Final Showdown out, I hopefully don’t need its hand restoration. Ardra’s Boulder is a nice Tech I pick,
benefitting from Midori and Mythmaking. Free Speech is also nice for stopping Arrest pops, and any other tricks bansa thinks of. I want Quince anyway for Mirrors, so I’ll go with that.

interesting i thought for sure he was going to drop whisperer and reteller… this game is certainly different from charnel’s usual play… peek aboo… yoshi… midori is out… workering stupid hive…
Bugger, I didn’t account for Tiny Basilisk. I need to think about Future air units now.
Spectral Roc is fine against a Void Star, if it’s not hiding behind tons of Stingers. bansa can afford one of each, if he’s got them.
Moment’s Peace lets me ignore them, and push through on the ground. Safe deploy is better for him than me, though, given his air units.
DeGrey can blast away Stingers when he arrives, but interferes with Mirrors.
Mythmaking means a powered-up Void Star can’t kill a noSQL Roc and overpower to kill Macciatus, but I probably want Rocs on defence anyway if they can’t kill a Void Star.
Reteller ensures I can bring the Roc back if it dies, and helps with hand size now that Final Showdown is scuppered.
I’ll go with Reteller and DeGrey, they seem like the better options for ending things quickly.
Bringing out Rook to fish for an extra card. I’d rather play the Aven, but I want a good chance of drawing Macciatus and Spectral Tiger, and I really don’t want to worker Arrest. Illusions stay out of the patrol, so they’re probably safe until Macciatus arrives, unless Bigby wants to take the hit.

Ooh, Newsman can block Free Speech. I hadn’t really thought of that. I definitely want Macciatus and the Tiger here, probably the Newsman. That leaves 6/4 gold. Skipping Newsman lets me build Tech III, otherwise I go for double heroes or float. I’m about to reshuffle, so Tech III isn’t the worst idea. I’m probably better off bringing Midori back in, though.

That’s a scary air force. Playing everything in hand is 7 gold, so 4 gold left over. Shame there’s no clear way to get the Roc killed and replay it. Maybe I just midband Midori and go for the base? On the other hand, I might want to kill Bigby, don’t want to see Injunction. Newsman copies Basilisk to kill the Xenostalker, Midori kills Scribe, then Tiger (6) + Reteller (3) is 9. Not particularly impressive. The Tiger can destroy Tech II either way. Reteller could trade with Bigby, but then I can’t both replay the Reteller and build a Tower for those Basilisks.
Other option: copy to kill Xenostalker (2), Reteller kills Scribe, Tiger kills Bigby, maxband Midori (5), Midori kills Owl, Roc kills Dragon, 4 gold left to buy Hounds + Reteller, or Hound + Tower. I probably get minced by the Basilisks, either way.
How about Reteller kills Scribe, Midori trades with Bigby, Tiger destroys Tech II? Then I still have gold left after playing everything from hand, and I can sink it into a Tower instead. I like that idea. Unfortunately, I can’t both destroy the Tech II and replay the Newsman by copying a Hound instead, otherwise I could do that in addition to building the Tower.
