Thoughts

I don’t think Bomber has great ways to pressure me at tech 1, so I’ll just try to beat him to tech 2. Pretty sure I’ll go Present, only question is whether I want Immortals + Judgment Day to outlive the Peace engine, or the traditional tempo plays to prevent it from ever getting started. Either way I might want to tech an Injunction next turn.

Thinkering

This seems fine so far. With us both building armies, I believe I’m at the advantage. Present tech 2 doesn’t deal so well with chump blockers.

Thoughts

I’ll have a lot to spend gold on next turn, so I don’t really feel like teching an expensive unit straight away, plus I can always fetch something with Garth.
I think a midband Drakk is pretty likely to drop next, so I’ll get a Nether Drain, and an Injunction in case Bomber techs up or floods instead. I can play either one of them and still afford one of Bargain and BC.

Thoughts

Hmm, do I need to bring Bigby in for an Injunction? Bomber hasn’t reshuffled yet, and only has 8 gold, so what do I actually have to worry about here? A pre-teched Garrison could get the engine running, and a Sergeant plus a couple of runes would let Nullcraft kill Garth, which would suck. Doesn’t seem very likely, though.
I could put some levels into Garth, to make killing him just that little bit harder. Any way that could backfire? Elite Training would cleave right through my patrol, and something like Unphase could bypass it and get the kill along with a BSuits, but I highly doubt Bomber teched either of those. Yeah ok, it’s not like I’ll have much to do with the gold if Garth dies anyway.

Thinktory

His army is looking a little large for my taste. Better cut it down.

uhh, there is no hero to drain lvs from. afaik the spell needs at least a lv1 hero as first target to work.

Hmm, that does raise the question of whether you are forced to drain a hero, in which case Garth would have to drain himself. @FrozenStorm? @zhavier?

well, he can gain the same effect by spending 1 more gold and saving 1 card. it does not change much.

Right, but that’ll mean I can’t afford the new skeleton, in which case I might want to do something else instead. I’ll wait for the ruling.

well, the rules are straightforward, imo. First you pick someone to drain, then you give 2 lvs to someone, no matter if you actually drained 2, 1 or 0 lvs. Hence you need to drain garth himself, but that makes lv up impossible to him.

Yeah, after re-reading the card text, I agree. I’ll redo my turn.

Edit: umm, do I roll all the way back, or to the last card I drew before the illegal move?

I also agree that the levels have to come from somewhere, and yes @dreamfire roll back to just before the illegal move

Well, almost the same result, but Bomber keeps Nullcraft, and I’m not sure to have TD next turn (and even if I draw it, I might lose Geiger). Nether Draining lvls from Garth is actually an upside, though, as it allows me to fetch something again next turn.
