Pestering Haunt
Poisonblade Rogue
Thieving Imp
Deteriorate
Sacrifice the Weak
Thoughts
I think I can safely assume zhavier has Mad Man in his next hand if he’s played Rambaster, so Thieving Imp isn’t healthy enough on its own, even if Zane would have to trade to get the Rambaster through. Maybe I just cast Sacrifice the Weak on the bloody thing, and play Vandy and Pestering Haunt.
Long-term, I don’t see any obvious strategy here. Abomination is great for Shoddy Gliders / Birds / Murkwood Allies, but is vulnerable to Kidnapping. So is Gorgon. Orpal is good against Rook, bad against basically everything else if zhavier goes for Blood II. Gargoyle is good for picking off Bugblatters, but can be blocked by Birds. Bloodlust is painful in general.
I think I might want to go for Sparring Partner / Gargoyle, depending on what hero zhavier plays this turn, then go for heroes. He’s got more ways to deal with big heroes, so maybe I’ll need to grab Spreading Plague at some point. Vandy and Grave have Sparkshot, but I’ll still have problems against mass weenies.
Putting Poisonblade Rogue into workers is a little annoying, I’d have liked it against Rook. Thieving Imp is better against Thunderclap threats, though.

Rough turn, if I play the Graveyard then Vandy’s probably a goner, even if the Haunt trades with the Dog. Summon Skeletons loses Vandy to Thunderclap, or easily gets cleared, and they won’t immediately help against Bird’s Nest anyway. Rook can sidestep Jandra. Just go with the Graveyard, I suppose. I’ll need Plague Spitter to deal with Rook / Birds. Sparring Partner would be nice for my heroes, but maybe I need to go for Sickness first to slow Rook / Birds down. Maybe go for Spreading Plague if Vandy dies? I don’t know.
Still not sure what’s good against Blood II + Kidnapping here. Mind Parry Monk’s nice if I can sit enough patrollers in front to stop Crashbarrows, then I guess I take Young Lightning Dragon in case of Shoddy Glider. No Abomination in that case, though.
Hanging onto Skeleton cards over Jandra, in case I need them against Birds.

Playing a hero so early was a mistake. I’m wondering whether my best shot is actually to go for Zarramonde, with Voidblockers + tower for slowdown along the way. Helps against Blood II aggression, and I’ve never tried it before, so it’s worth a shot. Taking the tower now, hopefully I’ll have room to tech up next turn.
Plague Spitter 3/3+1A (anti-air; deals damage in - runes)

No worries. I think what I needed was not to play a hero so early, then I might felt like I had breathing room for a better strategy. Or just have teched Spreading Plague earlier.
