Thoughts
In terms of an aggressive opening, Steve’s codex is limited. There’s no Vandy; the only 2/3 hero is Grave (who has a multicolor penalty). I’m mostly going to have to watch for Rambasas, I think. My plan is going to be Crash Bombers to trade favorably against Rambasas, followed up with Ember Sparks.

I want to just go in on Zane and Dog trade, but that’s a little too rich for me unless I just go all-in on spells. Let’s keep Zane in reserve then, keep up Dog and deploy a Brogre. Next turn I have the option of bringing in Zane to swing or bringing in Drakk for frenzy.

I have to make some hard decisions already in Turn2…If I kill Ogre with Deteriorate and Orpal I lose my Hero and have to pay 1 gold…too expensive…if I kill Nautical Dog and weaken Ogre with Orpal I have a bad defense and Ogre can attack next turn…so…I think I try to defend with Jandra as Squad leader and Orpal as Scavenger…I hope I can engage him while I try to bring my Skeleton army to life…

Brogre and Dog trade, Midband Zane gives me another gold, leaving me with 2 gold after worker. I can Crash Bomber, or I can Rambaster for 3 more building damage. Alternate line, I could Zane and fizzle the Orpal levels for 7 gold, shoving Jandra into Technician after I deal 2 to her with Brogre. Mehhh that doesn’t let me do anything like Rambaster. I could instead deploy Drakk for 5 gold, frenzied BRO kills Jandra and frenzied dog kills Orpal, free maxband. I worker and then Crash Bomber with my last gold. That’s pretty good! I can throw Kidnapping and a Tech 2 in there this turn, then. This lets me set up a Tech 1 kill, too. (Crash Bomber trade plus Lobber) Well, if StW doesn’t come out; it probably will. But I have a ton of haste next turn to make stuff happen.

A good response. I can do better. Re-maxing Drakk for 2, I can summon Bombaster, Lobber, Mad Man for 4, 1 for a worker. I unfortunately have to burn both Lobber and Mad Man against Bone Collector here, but Bombaster kills Garth and Drakk breaks Tech 1. Teching in Chaos Mirror as a utility spell to break a good SQL in the future.

With some savvy play, I can actually clear this out. Mad Man, Zane, Chaos Mirror is 5, CM to swap MM and Grave, MM kills Horror, midband Zane (8 total), Zane kills Zombie and gets a gold, maxband Zane to kill Skeleton into scavenger and get another gold, Lobber kills Grave and unfortunately levels fizzle but it leaves Lobber up. With Lich’s Bargain on the table, we should swap gears to Bugblatter/Crashbarrow/Shoddy Glider. On second thought, just Fire burn should be enough, and that’s easier to guarantee than Tech 2. Going tech 2 means we let up on the base burn pressure.
